The Holiday season has arrived! Yet, I find it difficult to get into the spirit of the holiday with all the season’s accompaniments. The heavy traffic, weather, and early sunset really puts a damper on any given plans. The weather itself, is a huge factor. The cold frigid temperatures, along with the snow and ice has drained my enthusiasm for many things including holiday shopping, working out, and really just anything that requires me to leave the warmth of my home! I guess I could invest my time in online shopping but I’m more of a tactile buyer. The days are shorter, the nights are longer, and with me being a night shift worker, even on my nights off I’m a nocturnal snacker. There’s nothing like high calorie (salty/sweet) snacks while you catch up on your favorite DVR’d television shows! This creates a greater need to go to the gym, but it is so easy to say, “Oh, I’ll go tomorrow!” I fear that the cold has turned me into a procrastinator! I believe that my only saving grace will be the greater sense of urgency associated with the final days of shopping. Yes, I will be forced to get up, get out, and do something!
